Fourth Grade

Welcome to Fourth Grade! This will be such a fun and exciting year for your child! Fourth grade is a year full of learning, building independence, and becoming a stronger student. This year, your child will become a reader, reading chapter books both for learning and fun.

They will dive into more difficult math concepts, and will explore Virginia history, all while growing up and beginning to get ready for that middle school transition! 

This year, your child will take three different Virginia Standards of Learning tests in reading, math, and Virginia Studies. Some students find that this can be a difficult year as we transition to “big kid” levels of independence expected within the classroom. Just know that we are here to support your child and we cannot wait to work together with you to help make your child’s year fun and successful!
