Principal's Welcome Message Welcome to a new school year! I look forward to working closely with our families to ensure the success and well-being of all our students. I would like to extend a special welcome to the new families joining Middle Road this year. I am honored to be your principal. My goal is to always put students first! A strong emphasis will be placed on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) as we implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in all PreK-5 classrooms. We are dedicated to implementing high quality instruction and the important life skills students need to prepare them for the future. Our Middle Road motto of “Fly Like an Eagle” will continue to promote our positive school culture. Together with our dedicated staff, we will strive to make connections with our students to help them “FLY….Feel safe, Live responsibly, and say Yes to respect”. Partner with us as we embark on this educational journey to help students thrive in every way possible. We are committed to providing an educational program that is challenging, stimulating and student-centered to ensure an enjoyable and exciting learning experience for all students. The Middle Road Parent and Student Handbook is designed to provide our families with important information necessary for helping to maintain a safe and positive school environment. It is intended to serve as a guide to the policies and procedures that are in place at Middle Road Elementary. For additional information, please refer to the Prince George County Student Code of Conduct and Safety Handbook. Please do not hesitate to contact our main office if you have any questions or have a concern. We look forward to a collaborative partnership between home and school to make this a successful school year. We are excited to see our students “Fly Like an Eagle”! Warm Regards, Chrystal Bland Barnwell, Principal
