All About Fourth Grade

The fourth grade teachers would like to send you a huge welcome! We know that this will be an exciting and rewarding school year for all of us. Fourth graders will take an SOL test in Reading, Math, and VA Studies at the end of the year and we will work hard throughout our school year to best prepare them to meet and exceed state standards. Students will focus on building their comprehension and fluency skills in Reading through novel studies and an increased rigor in Passages. In math, students will focus on expanding their problem solving and computation skills. They will also begin to explore fractions and decimals in a greater depth. Teachers here work hard to provide many hands on experiences and opportunities for success through differentiated instruction. We are so excited to see everything that your student will accomplish throughout their fourth grade year!
